Cruise from New York City to Halifax, Nova Scotia

August 31, 2008 through September 7, 2008

Linda and I traveled by sea on the Norwegian Dawn from New York City to Halifax, Nova Scotia and back. Besides Halifax, we visited St. John, New Brunswick, Bar Harbor, Maine, Boston, Massachusetts, and Newport, Rhode Island.

The food was great and it was exciting to see these cities from a sea perspective. One of the exciting things of the trip was the last night on the sea. Between Newport, Rhode Island and New York City we road the wind and waves of tropical storm Hanna. The storm was categorized as force 11 with winds reaching 75 MPH and seas measuring between 18 and 27 feet. Needless to say, we were rocking and rolling for several hours that night. A few times we thought we were going to be bounced right out of bed.

The collection of images below are a subset of the nearly 3000 made on the trip. A subset of these will make it into my galleries. They are presented here to give a broader view of the trip. I hope you enjoy the images.
